FABRIC
We know comfort is as much about texture as it is about looking good in a garment. The better a fabric feels against your skin, the better you’ll look. Thomas Dean & Co. engineers every fabric for luxurious comfort, so our shirts actually feel great against your skin. Our long-staple cotton shirts are plied and woven into high thread count fabrics that are as soft as luxury bedding.
COLOR & PATTERN
You can always spot a Thomas Dean shirt. The colors and patterns we select are a labor of love. We are not swatch pickers. Our team ventures out into the world to discover and capture new and timeless design elements. Italian art, vivid Spanish tile, French construction, tailored English tradition. These influences create a bouillabaisse of worldly flavors, which we distill into our patterns to make every Thomas Dean shirt unique.
CUT & FIT
A tailored shirt fit without a tailor? This is no sleight of hand. Thomas Dean & Co. shirts are carefully constructed to present a classically modern fit. We cut the shoulder yoke so the garment conforms to your body, mimicking the shoulder line. Dress shirt neckbands give you the flexibility to wear our shirts with a tie, sweater, or alone while retaining a crisp-collared appearance. And, each one of our patterned shirts features hand-finished seams, ensuring a uniformed pattern from palette to yoke.
*Most Thomas Dean shirts are not prewashed; therefore we cut our shirts to allow for shrinkage during laundering. One can expect a modest 2%-3% shrinkage in total and it may take up to seven launderings, due to variances in water temperature and drying.
FINISH
Don’t let the word fool you. We put as much thought into the finish as we do our design process. Each fabric requires a “finish” and there are many to choose from at varying price points. We’ve hand-selected a distinct finish that is available at only a few mills worldwide. Our chosen finish is a Thomas Dean & Co. signature that ensures our shirts will look and feel uniquely spectacular.
